Thinking Globally: Expand Your Horizons

It’s a global world out there and the more that we open ourselves up to that notion, the better off we’ll be in our business developments.  Today’s small business can’t just see itself in a vacuum.  Here are a number of tips that will help any business to look beyond its own window and its own area code.

Get connected through Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to see what people are talking about in relation to your business and your product. This is a great free way to get a sense of the market and to think globally.

Get one idea that will help you to move beyond your immediate area. Whether that’s a marketing campaign, a product that people need farther away, or another idea, it will help you to open up to new possibilities.

Start to get trade magazines if you don’t already. These often offer insights into new events, conferences and trends that are happening in your field and they show a perspective that isn’t always seen locally.
